I've been converting ani avi file so far and no problem (Xvid,Dvix,Etc.) but can't open a dv movie file I captured fron my Dv camera. Is it a codec problem? Any kind of help would be highly appreciated, thanks in advance. joe.

Yes, you need to install a DV codec. MainConcept is good. Stay away from Panasonic.

If you just use it for decoding, you may be OK.
