ifo file split?

Hi.
I need to split subtitles into three parts. I have sub,idx and ifo file. I do not know why the ifo file is needed for subtitles playback, but my standalone player needs it to play subtitles.
VobSub cutter can split the sub and idx files but what should I do with the ifo file? Can I copy it three times? Will it be good for every part? or do I have to split it soemhow?

What standalone player do you use? :confused:

A subpic stream must be multiplexed with the video and audio streams in a VOB to be useable by a standard DVD player. The sub and idx files are just temporary work files. You can't probably use them as it.

To multiplex files, try MuxMan...

I did not mention that I am not creating a DVD. The subtitles are used with an avi file. That is why I do not know what for it needs an ifo file with sub and idx files. It is Yamaha s550.

IMHO, you do not need the IFO.
The only thing that may be useful for the player in the IFOs is the subpic color table. But since it has no way to know which PGC must be used to retrieve the info, I'm pretty sure the IFO is useless.

Maybe you should ask this question in a forum specific to your Yamaha player.
