Nero Recode 2 help

Hi, I'm new at this and could use some help. I have no problem using DVD Decrypter to rip backups of movies to my harddrive. Problem #1 comes when I attempt to compress the movie using Nero Recode. I get a message that says it is 'checking discs' prior to the analysis/encoding. However, this will go on for hours and it never begins to encode.

Problem #2 - I managed, finally, to compress the movie only of Troy using DVD Shrink after buring it in ISO mode and mounting it as a DVD drive using DAEMON. I could not compress the entire DVD using DVD Shrink or Nero Recode. However, I am now having problems burning it with DVD Decrypter (Recode still has the 'checking discs' problem.) Here is a copy of the Decrypter log if it helps. Thanks to whoever can help.

no need for daemon tools. Just open .iso directly with dvdshrink (File | Open disc image)

I finally figured out that it was the memorex dvd's I was using. I took the pack back and exchanged them for some Maxell's and now I can burn using DVD Decrypter with no problems. Still having problems with Nero Recode though. Thanks for the attempts to help.
