Gudday there.Using dvico fusion card to record 1 to 2 hrs of video clips (S/def)in tp format with all subchannels recorded.Aust PAL tv Channel 2.
Using project x to demux files successfully, however once the files are split can anybody suggest the best way to edit and keep the clips i require in mpeg 2 format/dvd compliant on the hard drive for playback or recording to dvd.
The audio quality of the s/def files are mpeg2 256kbs quality.
After demuxing files one of the pids shows an ac3 stream.I didnt think that was possible
Wouldnt converting form 256kbs to ac3 result in loss of quality.?
Thanks

hi,
Being in Aus you might try the forums at

http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?act=idx

everything you wanted to know.

If you recorded all subchannels the HDTV stream would be included
and hdtv stream uses aac (ac3) sound.

After demuxing with ProjectX use cuttermaran (from this very site,
doom9 > download > digital tv > cuttermaran ).

Cuttermaran will let you edit your demuxed files to chop out ads, trim end etc.

Add your demuxed video file .m2v and cutty will load any video files it finds in same directory.
In cuttermaran choose actions > settings > muxing to set output
path for muxed file, and DVD for type. Cutty will use mplex to mux your cut file into a dvd compatible
.mpg file which you can then author.
More answers at above forums including step by step guides.

good luck
