ScenAid, NuMenu, Scenarist and DIF4U problem

Hallo,
I´m new user of BIG3 Backup method, and I´ve got some problmem with softwer which is in subject described.

1.

When I start backup by BIG3 DVD-Backup (new version) some problem has occured. When ScenAid importing the files (before the encoding process start) ScenAid interrupt and when I click on detail button there was a message like "some file is missing". I thing there´s a dummy AC3 file because in DIF4U I unchecked some language. When I start ScenAid again, everithing is allright, and backup looks like OK. I don´t know why is it. Is it normal ?

This is my hw/sw configuration.

AMD Barton 2500
512 MB RAM
Win XP PRO (SP 2)

DIF4U 1.4.0
NuMenu 1.3 RC4
CCE 2.67.00.11
Scenarist 2.7

Film : Terminator 2 (special edition, Cz-Sk version)

So my 2nd problem :

When I use DIF4U 1.4.7, process stop about 1 minute behind start and DIF4U window close. (setting is identically with upper describe when it is OK)

3rd :

When I use Numenu4U newer version like 1.3 RC4 (2.0.0, 2.0.1,2.0.2) NuMenu start and about 2 min after interrupt with error and close.

4rd : When I use Scenarist 3.0 it freeze in importing proccess (not numenu importing it is OK but importing after ScenAid I think)

And last question :

Termintor 2 was encoded about 1h 30 min (1 pass) and 6h 30 min (2 pass) so there is something about 8 hours. Is newer version of CCE faster like 2.67.00.11 or not and may be used by Big3 method let us say with programs upper described ?

Oh dear - not a very successfull attempt. Lets try and resolve each issue.
1) This can occur with the current public release. Basically the dummy file is written, and then scenaid checks the file immediately. Unfortunately even though scenaid thinks the file has been written it hasn't - there can be a delay. When you re-run scenaid this file now exists. Therefore no error.

2 & 3 More details are required. What error messages were thrown by the apps? Can you provide logs?

4) You say Scenarist freezes. While importing subs from scenaid.scp scenarist does 'appear' to freeze, but it is running in the background.

I am not aware that newer versions of cce are any faster.

Please provide more info to diagnose 2 & 3

OK thank you Zeul for reply. I must reinstall my actually functionally versions of 2.) 3.) software. At this moment I have got NuMenu 1.3 RC4 and DIF4U 1.4.0 so I have´t any error logs. Then I send all of the err-logs.
Scenarist 3.0 really freeze. It not proccessing at the background becouse when it is process there is some disk activity but in this sitation there was no disk activity about 1 hour. I think the processing should be similar like Scenarist 2.7 (which is OK) but isn´t. Scenarist (2.7) importing is job for 15 mins but 3.0 I think freeze (I wait 1 hour).

OK I try to reinstall new version of DIF4U and NuMenu4u and send some err-logs.

PS : So the scenaid "problem" last describe by me is not a problem is it normally ? I ask only for safety´s sake (there wasn´t any problem watching this backup, everythink looks allright). It could have been write some note in BIG3 method about this.

Otherwise special thanks for this backuping manual result is fantastic.

If you disable subs in ScenAid does it still lock up?

If not, then check how many subs (bmps) you have in your directory...

I've re-written the subtitle scanning routine and it's much faster now but if you have a lot of subs, 1.0 probably will take awhile to scan...

What you see as lockup is the interface not refreshing itself..

OK I disable subs (options/subhandling/disable importing of subtitles) and no change. I attach copy of my screen when error was occured.

So you ask for how many subs are there. There are 4 dirs and together there are 5014 bmps.

Well that error is as zeul described... i doubt that was causing your "lockup"

unless you referred to the error as a "lockup"

Sorry my english is not as good so I don´t understand what you mean that lockup. Can you describe detailly please ?:confused:

OK my friend,

when I install your 2.0.0 NuMenu version it stop (like I describe in the begining) and you can see some detail info at the bottom (my pic of my scr). So when I uninstall it and install 2.0.3 version it is OK, and no error occure.

Oh i forgot, when I use scenarist 3.0 I have FAT 32 filesytem and when I reinstall scenarist to 2.7 there was error (disk is full) which was caused by my old filesystem. Then I reinstall it to NTFS and eror dissapear. So I don´t try scenarist 3.0 after this operation. Maybe it´s OK. I must to try reinstall 3.0, encode film (8 hours :( ) and then I write result.
