I'm trying to backup Yes, Minister D1. I was getting the 0006 error, so on the advice I got in another thread I tried an earlier version of QuEnc to see if it would fix my problem.
My current versions/settings:
- DVDRB .70b (full disc, default settings)
- QuEnc .54 (standard quality, 2 Passes)
- Avisynth and everything else is default from DVDRB Installer
- DVDDecrypter 3.5.2.0, File mode, NO pre/post-processing done
I deleted (after backing it up in a different place) the QuEnc v56 in the DVDRB folder and pasted in QuEnc v54. When I ran RB I immediately got an error message saying something about a missing avcodec.dll file, so I copied and pasted that into the same folder with QuEnc v54. I then tried running RB again.
This time it ran, got to about 24% completed though, and seemed to lock up or stop processing. I had let it run overnight and while I was gone most of the day, so it must have run for about 20 hours before I checked it. I had to use Task Manager to shut QuEnc down, as it was "Not Responding". DVDRB was locked up, so I had to reboot the computer.
Tried it again, got to 61% after about 20 hours and QuEnc had froze again. I used Task Manager to shut QuEnc down, but this time I got a bunch of flashing QuEnc windows for a few seconds, then RB continued on. I was surprised, but let it. A few minutes later I got an Error 0003 message and when I clicked on it RB crashed.
I went into the Working directors and looked at the files. There are a lot of missing .m2v files, and of the ones that are there, they are all 0kb.
So, I thought I would try QuEnc v57, but it is no longer avilable for download at the DVD-Rebuilder site that had it before. Does anyone else know where I can get it (a Google search turned up only newer versions)? Or is this not going to help?
Any ideas on what I can do would be greatly appreciated. I have NEVER been able to get DVDRB to work using QuEnc, and I would really like to. ReJig I can get working but, I want an actual encoder. I am NOT a programmer, IT guy, or video expert, and some of the threads I have read about making my own .m2v files and such made no sense to me, so anythig that (seemingly) complex is beyond my current capabilities. Think "DVD-RB for Dummies", ha! Thanks all.
