DVD plays then freezes then plays then freezes

I've burnt three dvd's - all have the same problem.
The film plays ok then freezes for about 2seconds then plays again for a few minutes but freezes again and then plays again. This happens for the entire film.
I've tried three different films at 1x and 2x and used Nero, DVDDecrypter and VSO CopytoDVD all with same results. My burner (MSI A8) has successfully burnt XBOX and PS2 games so I think that's ok. Maybe It's A disc problem (Maxell 1-4x). Or my Cheap Daewoo DVDplayer is to blame - All play ok on pc with PowerDVD.

Has anyone come accross this problem and solved it or does anyone have any suggestions as to cause or cure. Any help would be appreciated.

IIRC, Memorex media has a higher rate of incompatibility issues than some of the other easily accessible brands.
