i have been doing a few burns with dvd decrypter which is launched by ImgTool as i am creating images to burn, and sometimes i get the following error message soon after dvd decrypter launches:

I/O Error!

Device: [0:0:0] LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S BSOK (i:) (USB)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 25 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Read Capacity

Sense Area: 70 00 02 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 04 08 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Logical Unit not ready, Long Write in progress

This error message doesn't seem to effect the DVD produced: DVD Decrypter continues the burn and the output seems fine.

But can anyone tell me what this error message is about and how i can get rid of it?

thanks

nick.

Hi Nick,

I'm shooting in the dark here: my guess is that you are using an external burner..? Takes a bit of time to communicate perhaps. If it is serious then I suppose your burn won't be able to play.

Now just for fun, stop/cancel a running process and the decrypter will verbose back with: "Please be patient! I heard you the first time!" :D

Isn't BS0S the latest firmware? If so, upgrade to it.

When you say this error shows up soon after DVD Decrypter is launched, do you really mean that?

It should only issue that command at the start / end of the burn.

Obviously if it's at the start, the won't be a "long write" (a write operation - meaning the drive is burning something) in progress. If it's at the end (and the firmware doesn't fix it), there might be something I need to fix - but then the end of a burn isn't what I'd call "soon after dvd decrypter launches".

I notice you have a USB drive. IS the port USB2.0?

I have seen many other ppl have probs with USB burners.

This thread (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45123) might help you.
