Does anyone know what the Audio Production Information settings actually does?

I want to know if I can increase the total volume level of the sound track without messing up with teh dinamic compression. I´ve been following the Guide from SomeJoe (and leaving the Audio Production Informatin exist option unchecked) but I get sound tracks that are really low volume (Specially when compared with PCM tracks) so I want to even them somehow.

i cant found much info regarding the audio production information
i always set it at 384/48/-0,27dB..good quality each time;)
