Cheep DVD's on the street.

This started in Hungary about some 2 years. Lot of little older movies available in DVD format at newspaper shops. Nowadays I see over 30 titles regularry from at least 10 publisher. Prices are from 4 to 10 Euro, usually for 10 you get 2 disc. In Serbia it started last summer, and prices are even lower: 2.5 to 4 Euro. Quality varies very much, but I saw pretty solid ones too.
It looks that traffic and choice increases constantly. Did publishers finally discovered how to compete piracy ?(what is signifficant in 2 mentioned country)

Prices in Denmark are from 2 Euro/2 USD and up to 27 Euro/35 USD. Depends on which shop you buy it from, how old it is, package etc.
Normal price is 20 Euro/25 USD for not that new DVDs and 27 Euro/35 USD and up for newest ones.

In spain I see DVD from 3€ ut to more than 30€, the new dvd are priced from 24€ to 30€ and some are prized at 18€, the standard price is arount 18€ for the movies whith less tan 1 year, but the bigger catalog is prized from 10€ to 12€ with some movies not much old or remastered movies, I found movies in this range around 2 years old, if you go to the movies that are sold with a newpaper yo can obtain a movies for less than 2 year at around 8€ to 10€ without problem.

Prices have definitely fallen in the USA. Generally I buy used though, from local pawn shop chain: $US 5 per DVD. Why buy new if you can get it used (in good condition) cheaper?

we have some older movies(80's etc.) released here cheap nowdays. usually $10-$15. bugger all extras etc. and lack of subtitles pisses me off from 1 company in particular. the quality on most is ok, though some its easy to see they havent used the best source for.

the movies i am talking about have not been released on dvd here before so you cant buy any other version.
