I have the following problem when I click DVD Play on IfoEdit. I hope somebody can help. I do exactly what the IfoEdit Guides say, i.e decrypt using DVD Decrypter, etc. The files on my pc play perfectly when I use PowerDVD but there are no menus because I cannot get the titles when I click DVD Play. This is what I get:
• 1 out of 3 DVD-Video streams failed to render properly-subpicture stream.
• No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection.
• No valid DVD-Video volume could be located.
• Decoded closed caption data not rendered properly.
• DVD Error! Cannot get the IVideoWindow interface. Sorry can’t play DVD-Video titles.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Congratulations for this wonderful forum. I have learned so many things from it.
Thanks, Alain

hi aimealain and welcome to the forum!
this seems to be a common problem with ifoedit and filters. running a forum search on 'streams failed render ifoedit', i came up with this:
search results (http://forum.doom9.org/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=1244116&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending)
you should find the information you are looking for in one of those threads. if not, please post back here with any further questions and the solutions you have tried.
cheers

1 out of 3 DVD-Video streams failed to render properly-subpicture stream.IfoEdit is missing or using the wrong codecs. Download a older stable version, 0.96 (http://www.ifoedit.com/). When you click on DVD Play button, you will be presented with a list of found codecs that IfoEdit uses. Capture an image or type what you have in you rreply post. The author, Derrow, took this much needed feature out in 0.971.
I used GKnot to help me investigate on what the codecs are associated with what program.
No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection. Same as above. Find out what codecs IfoEdit is currently using.
No valid DVD-Video volume could be located. This is normal when you don't have a DVD in your DVD Drive. It can be any DVD. Try it you'll see. I agree with others that this message is not really needed. This confused many people at first but I really think it should've said "No valid DVD-Video volume could be located in your DVD-Drive."
Decoded closed caption data not rendered properly. Missing or wrong codec.
DVD Error! Cannot get the IVideoWindow interface. Sorry can’t play DVD-Video titles. Read #7 this is official FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18817).
For your information, you can get IfoEdit to work with just having PowerDVD installed and DirectX updated. That's the minimum for me. If you are going to ask how to force IfoEdit to use specific codecs, I don't know. It's in the algorithm and the author never gave us an feature to do so.

Thanks to Jel and 2COOL for the prompt and detailed reply. I have installed IfoEdit version 0.96 and when I click DVD Play I now have
Found filters for DirectX:
Dsound Renderer
Nero DVD Decoder
Overlay Mixer
Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder
Cyberlink Audio Decoder
DVD Navigator
When I click OK I get the same messages as in my original thread, except for No1. which is not there this time.
I have read through the forum as advised by Jel and removed the Elecard filter but still no luck.
Awaiting your next advice. Till then, cheers. Alain

This is my experience with Elecard codec . http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=544788#post544788
Let's try these separate suggestions.
1. Try uninstalling your Nero software and see if IfoEdit will latch on to PowerDVD's codec
2. Re-install PowerDVD.
