Hi, every svcd movie that I burn and play on my Toshiba sd-2700 the picture and the sound are out of sync. On my pc the movies work just fine.

What am I doing wrong, guys?

The Toshiba SD-2700 does not support SVCD.

Videohelp.com lists all the compatible formats.

well, if it does not support SVCD why can I see a picture on the screen and hear sound at all? In DivX and XviD movies I get an error message and can not see anything. the article mentions that this dvd player does not support jpeg pictures as well, but I can see jpeg pictures on it with no problem so I guess this article is lacking real information.

Well if it did support SVCDs then you would have no problems. :)

Most likely you can see a picture because both SVCD and DVD are MPEG-2 video. But SVCD uses 44.1kHz audio, while DVD uses 48kHz audio. Thus the audio sync problem.

The technical specifications of the SD2700 (found in the owner's manual or Toshiba website) make no mention of SVCD, only VCD. And if you read the personal user reviews for this player on various websites the number one complaint seems to be lack of SVCD support.
