hi

i am thinking about buying a computer with wich i dont play games. i only will encode videos with it.

which hardware should i take. i have read that tbe best cpu will be a pentium 4 with HT.
but which mainboard? maybe with onboard vga..
what is about a shuttle?
it should be not to expensive...

Purely encoding, no watching? Video card may not matter much...

Seems to me like almost everything is fast these days, in terms of mainboard. Differences between cheap & expensive might amount to what, 5 minutes shaved off encoding time? :p

IMO what you want is fast, reliable RAM, fast CPU and huge/fast hard drive. Avoid overclocking. Just my opinion(s).
