Looks good, i did a quick test with a few samples and it could consistently beat ffv1 (lost to Snow though in 2 cases from the 4). :) If you can improve the encoding/decoding speed a bit more, it'll be very useful for many of us.

Is it just me, or does MSU's "fast" mode compress better than the "maximum compression" mode?

So again the title of this thread is not correct?

How you use this Snow? ;) We try it, but without success!
And we work on speed now (our main speciality - compression methods, but we make speed optimization and optimization for processors (MMX, etc) now.

On some videos after DVD or DivX it's possible. Our last fixes in fast mode was very efficient! ;)

See the opening post on this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84593), i've tried to explain there the most important options (quality on 100 means lossless compression). Probably worth to mention that snow is only capable to compress in YV12 colorspace.

Ok! Thanks! We will try to use it again in a short while.
Can you measure it on well known sequences like foreman, news or something like them?
