View Full Version : 8x Riteks only burn at 2x

I have a (generic) 4x burner, but I can only burn some brands of media at 2x, even though it's labeled 4x or 8x. Could this be a problem with my version of Nero? Or do I need a firmware updgrade?

To answer my own question, I went ahead and flashed the firmware (GENERIC DVD DUAL 4XMax) and now I can burn at 4x. The drive is actually an I/OMagic, which is where I got the firmware.
