h 264

I got one x264 avi file from a link in this forum and i converted 1
in to x264 using Gk but i cannot play this files using
Media player. when i try to play this files it shows
"downloading codec " , "error downloading codec" etc.
But i have some x264 or h.264 codecs or something downloaded and
installed on my system ( some from this forum links and some thru google). Is there any possible soln for playing this files.

Download and install the latest ffdshow build from celtic_druid.
