This may seem like a stupid question but I am using VirtualDubMod (1.5.10) to re-encode some mpeg2 (.m2v) files to avi (because tmpgenc plus could not open these files for some reason, and I want to make an ntsc DVD with them). The original files are PAL Widescreen, 16:9, yet when I convert them to avi files and play them they show up as 4:3.
Is there a way to create an avi that will maintain the correct aspect ratio for playback? I am using xvid as my encoder...
Also, what settings should I adjust to get the highest quality for my avi considering I will have to turn it back into an mpeg to author my dvd?
