View Full Version : Adjusting total size?

Hi!

I am using rebuilder for a long time now. It's great!
But......

Sometimes the result after processing (I use CCE mode) is slightly too big. Most of that times I can remove something so I get beneath the total size that can be burned on a DVD+.
With the DVD I am working on now (with a lots of videoclips) I can't get there... (yeah removing files of around 1 Gig)....

Is there a way to get around this? And maybe it's a suggestion to be able to specify to rebuilder the total size you want for the outcome (so overruling the defaultsize) or is there already something like that?

I've had this a few times myself since I use a CCETargetSectors=2260000... what I do with oversize, is manually re-encode particular sections (usually extras) with CCE by copying a section from rebuilder.ecl into item.ecl, editing the bitrate, then running the item.ecl project in CCE to make the M2V smaller (and then Rebuild the DVD.) This lets you fine-tune the compression afterwards and get that extra few MB of room you need to just squeak under the DVD-R size limit, without having to redo the entire movie to an overall smaller TargetSector setting.

Another option if you haven't done it already, and provided they are somewhat bloated, is compress motion menus using DVDShrink to give you some more room (and of course leave the rest of the DVD uncompressed.)
