I was going to buy the Epson R200, but I hesitate after reading lots of different topics. I have found that lots of people complaining on this printer and it seem like it often run into lot of troubles after some time.

So I figure maybe it would be better to pay 20€ and get the Canon PIXMA iP3000?

What do you think? Any suggestion which one to pick?

I know the R200 can print DVD's, but I can't find any info on the Cannon being able too. Does it?
I am looking into a DVD printer myself.

I have been using the epson for quite a bit now , works great but the thin strip of plastic on the cd holder at the front splits , iv'e cut it off and all is well.I always buy epson for the cheap compatible inks.

canon has just as cheap ink, plus, unlike the Epson, it has a replaceable print head. Though the only place I've seen it for sale was for $50US, which is more than a new IP3000 would cost.

I've heard nothing but good things about the IP3000. I don't know why the US version can't print discs though. If it did I would get one in a second. Newegg has them for $47 after a $20 rebate.

I don't do DVD printing myself, but I'm currently looking for a printer. Unfortunately it has to be a multi-function device and I haven't seen any in my price range that support DVD printing, so I may have to live with my sharpie a little longer.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but anyone here have any experience with a 'modded' pixma IP 3000?
wmansir, what did you end up with - or are you still using a sharpie like I've been for years? :) I'm looking at getting a 'new' used ip3000 on ebay, and doing the mod for all my dvd labeling.
