I hate to post this, since I know this is somehow my fault... but maybe somone can offer me advice on what to do; or it might even be helpful somehow to Jdobbs. So here goes.
I preprocessed Mulholland Dr. (NTSC) with DvdRemake. I took out the trailer and anything extra on the disc, including a small section at the beggining of the movie with the universal logo. The movie itself plays fine after export, and I've double checked that theres no problems with it. I've ran it through DVD-RB .73, and .74 (completely), and during the rebuild phase I get this error, right towards the very end of the rebuild process. I know that everything encoded with CCE properly, as I have checked all the M2V's and its all there... but when I watch what it finished of the rebuild, it craps out in the last 5 minutes of the movie. The audio is synched up fine, and the only other strange thing I notice is some glitchy behavior when I rewind the dvd slowly, or when I try to press play after having been rewinding or fast forwarding... it picks up in a spot towards the end, but not where it had stopped rewinding or forwarding to. Now, it needs to be said that this movie has no chapter breaks.... and I get the feeling that this might have something to do with my problems, but maybe it doesnt... I'm not an expert on this, thats why I'm asking.
If you need anymore info I'll be glad to check it out and post it up here so just ask.
Edit: oh yea, I'm using the latest dgdecode linked in the installation sticky, and CCE 2.70.01.05

I just had this same exact problem with another movie I had run through DVDRemake. So, I'm sure now that Remake is causing this issue. It then begs the question to anyone else using Remake, are you having this issue as well?
Edit: Again, I must point out that the encoded m2v's all play fine, but watching what DVDRB rebuilt, it crapped out on one of the special features this time, it is not on my rebuilt disc at all (because it gave the error on or just before rebuilding this segment. I did double check that the m2v is there, and it is, and it plays fine. Anyone have any ideas for me??

I've given up on Remake, I've had most discs I've made through remake fail during some stage of DVD Rebuilder. Errors have varied for me. Try VOB blanker, and Menu edit, pretty much the same thing, faster, with no problems

well, it seems that the only problems that have come up are at the very end of the rebuild process now. I had given up on Remake as well, but Jdobbs had mentioned some fixes made that may have fixed compatibility issues with it. I'd say it has fixed it, all but for an error right at the end of the rebuilding process... 2 times on 2 different movies... I think this is fixable somehow... I just need someone smarter than me to help me troubleshoot this...
would anyone with DVDRemake try removing trailers and FBI warnings ect. leaving only the special features and movies, and see if it give you the same issue?

The only time I ever have problems with Remake & Rebuilder are sometimes if I cut cells, and even that is very rare.
Trying to use a "cracked" copy of Remake on the other hand will very often mess up the result quite a bit :D

With the second movie (Johnny English - NTSC) I didn't cut any cells or anything, just the trailers. And my DVDRemake is legitimate, I payed for it, but I normally dont use it much since it doesnt work with DVD-RB

I use Remake with every DVD, as I always get rid of at least some subpictures, and studio logos/warnings, so to say that it doesnt work with DVD-RB is IMO just plain wrong.
As I said in my last post, the only time I have problems with the combination is on some rare ocations when I have cut studio logos etc.- out of a cell.
That being said, those of us that do pre-prosess DVD's use different programs, and change different things, that again afect the DVD's in different ways, so I can understand why JDobbs don't want the job of trouble shooting all these combinations :D

well, that is strange, because I am not even trying to cut any logos out, just trailers and adverts, and it wont rebuild at the very end of the disc. I even tried no compression, and it does the same thing. Its something thats messing up in the rebuild phase for some reason.
I wish I was lucky enough to have no problems with it, but I cant remember the last sucessful dvdRemake project that went through dvd-rb without problems. It always was a hit and miss thing before, but now these forst two I tried have an error at the same spot, its after the gauge reaches 100 percent completion, and before it finishes up the very last parts. :/

I've also been experiencing some problems with material that has been preprocessed by (registered) DVDReMake Pro. On Troy R1, when you remove the French version (mainly French titling) with ReMake, it removes the branching in the video for the french titles... this seems to cause DVD-RB fits afterwards when you go to compress the film.
The solution I ended up with involved calculating the TargetSector oversize for leaving those bits in, then running Rebuilder, then editing the oversized disc afterwards and removing those parts, which brought it down to fit snuggly into 4489MB. The disc plays fine on my PC now, but has split second video AND audio pauses on my DVD player (but that POS seems to stutter at chapter breaks on original discs sometimes as well, so who knows.)
I've run Philips DVD Verifier on the data, which reports lots of compliance errors, even in the original disc... if I recall they were all 'non critical' errors though... but errors none the less. I need to do some more stream verification reports and compare them before I can say one way or the other where the problems are coming from.

I finally hit this error myself and found out what was. It has nothing to do with DVD ReMake or any kind of preprocessing. It was just sloppy programming on my part. The fix will be in v0.76.

Awesome Jdobbs! you rule!;)
I'm gonna go ahead with further testing of preprocessing with Remake, but if this error is indeed gone, then it would seem as if the compatibility with DVDRemake will be solved. I will post some results tomorrow after I have had some time to process some movies. Thanks to everyone who came to respond on this thread. This is the best community and support for a program that I have been invlolved with. Keep it up everybody.
Peace :D
