PAL to NTSC authoring redux

With series one of Spaced in the can, I attempted to do the same with Black Books...

I used DVD Decrypter to extract each PGC as one .M2V video stream and one .AC3 audio stream. (The DVD has six 25 min episodes and one 10 minute blooper reel in separate pcg's)

I ended up with seven video and seven audio files. Playing the video through media player classic, everything looked fine.

When I attempted to convert the video with TMPGEnc, what should have taken roughly 50 min an episode took about 10 seconds and I ended up with six 25 min empty video files (although the correct aspect ratio!) and a fully functioning blooper reel.

Spaced was one VOB with 35 chapters, 5 chapters per episode, so I had to decrypt/demux 5 chapters at a time to get 7 episodes. And now this...is there something obvious I'm missing here? Is there a foolproof way to do episodic dvd's that I am unaware of?

More redux (?)

If I made 7 VOB's (One Video and one audio stream each), and used VOBEdit to extract the video, TMPGEnc would not even open the resulting .m2v file (but it WOULD open the one direct from DVD Decrypter)!!

Media player classic, of course, played the VOB's and the .m2v files just perfectly thank you, which is okay for me to watch on the PC, but I can't do anything else besides that.

Is there something that can be done to the internal structure of the .m2v file, perhaps some new protection, that would prevent what I am trying to do? Is there a way to check this if it is the case?

There is a new plug-in for tmpgenc that fixes this problem and lets me open the vob's directly. See my other post in the tmpgenc forum for the link!
