View Full Version : Frame rate problem in Dr. Divx

Dr. DIvx is really a very good and simple conversion software.

I used Dr DIVX to convert a DVD movie file with 29.97 frames/sec frame rate. After conversion using default settings i found that audio and video are out of sync. The new file frame rate was 25fr/sec.

I think the problem is due to frame rate change. Because whenever I converted a movie with 25frames/sec ,the movie was perfectly in A/V sync. But wherever I convert files with different framerate it will be forced to convert into 25 frames/sec.

I tried to change the advanced settings in Dr.Divx but I never got the option there. Please send me your valuable suggestions to overcome this problem.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
If your original movie is 29.97 f/p you should keep that... Did not Dr. DivX recognized automatically? Whatever, keep the frame rate as the original, and be sure that you keep the audio (in the case that you convert the audio into a mp3) with the same Khz. (48 Khz in the case of a DVD).
I use Dr. DivX when I burn my own subtitles into a movie, in that case, I use it with Avisynth as frameserver, but if you want to do everything automatiacally, I suggest to use AutoGK... also an excelent tool!
Greetings! ;)

Thank you
I tried AutoGK .Its really excellent. But while converting a movie i specified output size as 700mb. But it has converted the movie to 540mb with much loss of resolution (340*192). Is there any way to fit it exactly as the specified size? I think the quality would have a lot better if it has used that remaining space. Kindly suggest remedy.

Hmmm... strange. I used to have problems with the final avi size, but no so much diference as you got.
Try "Custom size" and put the value you wish in MB, I'll also recomend to put the MP3 in CBR and not in VBR (just in the case you want to have an MP3 as an audio stream).
Greetings! ;)
