.img what do you use to burn it?

what exactly is a .img file and what do you guys use to burn to a dvd that plays in dvd players with? Nero? Also what do you guys use to play them? I have nero show time.

An image file is simply a special "bundled up" file which contains your DVD to be burned in all it proper format.

There are many popular - and good - software players including PowerDVD, WinDVD and Showtime.
