RB-Opt and CCE templates

When I create a custom template in CCE and check it as the default, does RB use that template exclusively, with the exception of the VBR bias and Quantizer characteristics settings that I chose in RB options? Are there any other settings that RB overrides in CCE?

No, RB doesn't uses templates, and sets all CCE parameters.

All CCE parameters? I was wanting to use a low bitrate matrix on a particularly difficult source, and I assumed that RB would go to the default (checked) template, and only reset the VBR and QP settings...

edit: From what I read in some previous threads, any changes to CCE parameters could possibly be made through .ecl edits? Would this method be possible to incorporate low bitrate matrices that CCE includes in the program?

You can change these CCE parameters, for every Vob-ID:
- Number of passes
- DC Precision
- Gop Length
- Quantizer Characteristics
- Bias
- Min/Max bitrate for VBR
- Matrices
- CCE internal Filters

Is RB-Opt working with Rebuilder v7x, (and CCE 2.70) quite yet?

I seem too be having problems with RB-Opt. I'm using RB version .73, when I load the .inf into RB-Opt it changes all the files from VBR to OPV. I switch all the sectors back to VBR and saved the setting. But when I hit encode, it encodes sectors using CBR for all files! Been using RB with RB-Opt for a quite awhile, never had the problem until RB version .71. Does neone else experience this problem?

I haven't tested yet RB-Opt with CCE 2.7x
Support will be added soon (I hope tomorrow).

I'm running a project using RB-Opt with RB v73 and CCE 2.70 right now. No bitrate changes, just tweaking of the quantization matrix, dc_precision, and gop length. And so far, no error messages... :)

edit: @beechnut, I did not have the same problem that you describe when I loaded the inf... All files stayed in VBR mode.

First of all great little app! I am using CCE version 2.67.00.23 . And like I posted earlier this does not happen with RB .70 and all the previous versions.

Note: I do edit the bitrates also

I haven't tested yet the new version of DVD-RB.
I'm encoding now ... probaly will test tomorrow.

Done a first test with DVD-RB 0.73 and RB-Opt 0.15 and CCE SP2.70 trial

RB-Opt works with DVD-RB 0.73
For CCE SP2.70 trial there are these issues:
- Quantizer characteristics limited to 64 (full scale is 100 for CCE SP 2.70)
- Filters don't work well (I'll check what I can do for this)
- OPV don't work.

I'll post soon an updated version (first and third issues are already solved. I have to check for filters).
