Used DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0 to decrypt Friday Night Lights. No apparent problem. Ran DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 to shrink and put it on a single sided DVD. The program ran for a few seconds and then crashed - program error. Anybody else having this problem? I have used DVD Decrypter and Shrink many times and this is the first time I've encountered the error.

DVD Shrink Encountered an error?
Sony recently introduced ARccOS - DVD-Video Copy Control ("face the creators of illegal copies with ARccOS copy control!" --- pleaseeeee) on some new dvds like Resident Evil 2 Region 1 for instance. To bypass this just rip with the new DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0 (released Jan 5, 2005) to an .iso image then open the .iso with dvdshrink and process it. Also some other titles if you encounter an error in DVD Decrypter go to Tools | Settings | I/O tab then check Ignore Read Errors.

i hope this helps.let me know if going back to the older shrink works for you.

Strange...I had no problem with Troy using the latest versions of Decrypter and Shrink. However, you were correct, the older version of Shrink worked on Friday Night Lights. Also, if anybody is interested the latest version of Nero Recode 2 or whatever it's called also crashed on the Decrypted version of Saturday Night Lights - but it ran for 10 or 15 minutes before it just quit and "went away".

I finally get to reply to a post, I was having a lot of trouble backing up The Grudge and Little Black Book with any of the dvd programs and I came across this link while reading Help websites. This is a list of movies that are causing problems and why there are problems with them. There are also solutions to the problems that are being encountered:

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46190

Using the instructions provided I managed to backup the movies I was having difficulty with.

From what I read, the author, dvd shrink, has moved on to Nero to work on Recode. In fact, Recode is more like an advanced DVD Shrink.
