View Full Version : Angle stripping: what step did I miss?

Hi all,
Last night I followed one of 2COOL's guides to perform angle stripping with IFOedit v.971, failed miserably.
Did all the steps, open TS_IFO, get VTS sectors, IFOedit did the voodoo fix, woohoo, save the file. Attempted to close it, got the warning something like "some files have changed, still want to exit without saving?" So I attempted to open each and every one of the (8)IFOs, saved them again(tediously). The warning message still pops up.
I'm at a loss as to what @#$%& to save! :(
TIA

IfoEdit usualy trows up that warning even if you have saved all files, if you know you have saved, just ignore.

@NobbyNobbs,
Eventually I had no choice but to exit after "ignoring" the warning. Testing failed with the software player understandably...
@2COOL,
It's Miyazaki's Spirited Away guide in which you had to use 2 versions of IFOedit, 0.91 & 0.95.
This all started when VOBblanker warned about the multi-angles and ILV thingy. Soooooo, I go adventurous :D ....
It's another toon, 4 musketeers starring Mickey, Donald, Goofy & Surfy. Why in the world would there be angles in a toon movie???? I can understand the movie Matrix or even the above mentioned Miyazaki's for handling the language aspect.
My net access is filtered and it seems to be the cause when visiting decryptor.com site...:rolleyes:

In disney movies, angles are typically used to display credits (or written things in the cartoon, like a newspaper front page) in various languages. I've seen this in quite a few...

Thanks Jean, but this particular movie's angles are near identical when checked with PGCedit. I don't see any vous-le-vous nor holas :p.
Here I go again, thinking. What if I prepped the whole movie the usual way with PGCedit, zap them angle 2 and/or 3 cells. Would it come out skewered running through VOBblanker? For that matter, even use VOBblanker to blank the known angle cells? Then maybe run through IFOedit's "GET VTS SECTORS" routine? Brrrrr.
"Still interested about earlier mentioned IFOedit's temperment."
TIA

"Allow me to introduce myself..."
I'm still shaking my head on what happened to my IFOedit dilemma. After clicking the GET VTS SECTOR button, I DON'T have to save !!!:eek: Just quit the prog and it worked !!
A leetle clarification on them two choices in VOBextra screen: REMOVE AND ADJUST ilv/angle pointers checkboxes, which to choose for stripping? Er...remove? Any step I should take to prevent incorrect chapter or cell numbering...?
Zanks a lot.

Surf,
Can you post your steps on how you were able to get the angle removal by using ifoedit to work?
Thanks

Glad to be of help:p .
Follow 2COOL'sguide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84097) on mock stripping with a few adjustments.
On the VOB extra page, you also have to check the "remove angle" and in the middle of the window there's a checkbox for "keep angle" and you choose your choice, angle #1 is the most preferred choice in NTSC region.
You HAVE to output the stripped to another folder. If you have 2 harddrives, then output it to the other drive, cuz it's faster.
When you go to the next page, there's also your opportunity to strip the un-wanted audio/sub-title streams. Then you'll face the last page. NOW, DON'T CHECK any un-checked box(es)! If you do, you'll end up with ALL the angles again.
Sorry, I'm un-able to illustrate it for you with pics but it's not as complicated as I sound.

surf,
Did you do both Mock Stripping Titleset VOBs and Mock Stripping Menus?
thanks

1st, the angle removal procedure is NOT mock stripping, it is actually stripping(the angles/audios/subs). Like 2COOL explained at the very start of the guide, mock means imitating. I pointed his guide out to you because that is the step to take WITH extra adjustments to his guide.
2nd, there is no need to touch the menus.
Use this method I have been practising: Your stripped folder now contains the bulk of the (movie) files. Go back to your original ripped folder and copy the rest over to the stripped folder. For example your movie files are VTS_01s. You copy the rest of VTS_02, 03 and so on over to the stripped folder. Now your stripped is complete.
