DivX vs Xvid.

Which codec is the best. DivX or Xvid.
Preferably to encode DVD's to .avi
Well actually Anime DVD's. ^_^
I would like to start off my encoding the better way.
So you Encoders can help me.

please read the rules! there is no _best_ codec. for some professional comparison take a look here (http://www.doom9.org/codecs-104-1.htm) - but in the end you'll have to decide for yourself...
