can someone verify that the default settings for auto gk should be okay to play on this chip? i'm having trouble playing xvid/divx files that i create in autogk to play smoothly on the pinnacle showcenter wired via ethernet to my pc. they just play really choppy on the showcenter on high motion scenes/pan scenes. xvid's are worse than divx's.
this is what it supports mpeg-4 wise:
- MPEG-4 ASP@L5** video decoding
without 1/4 pixel and global motion compensation
here is the product page:

Do you have bitrate spikes control enabled in AutoGK? If yes, then all the settings are compliant.

sorry, where would i set that? that would be great, i can go back to using xvid encodes and just set the bandwidth limit for my digital media player when using autogk. i checked the faq's and also the hidden options menu.
thanks!

This option is only available in the installer and only for DivX (when XviD 1.1 is out the option will be available for it as well).

nice thanks,
i just upgraded to 1.88 beta and i see it as an option.
is there a way to set the bandwidth limit for my player somewhere, or autogk automatically manages the bandwdith spikes for me? what's the default ceiling?
i'll use divx for now until xvid 1.1 comes out, no biggie, thanks,

bandwidth is managed by DivX Home Theatre profile automatically.

do you think the choppiness i'm seeing in the showcenter is because my videos are encoded at 23 frames per second instead of 29? or that shouldn't be noticeable?

no, it just showcenter sucks according to many reviews I've seen...

it all makes sense now! thanks,
gonna look for another player. d-link dsm-320 sucked too. if anyone has any recommendations and xvid/divx files play smoothly and no problems on their hardware player, lemme know.
the new HD sigma chips are out now.. maybe they'll be better than these standard sigma 720x480 chips. there are a couple of players that have these included in japan already.
also looks like the sigma chip/pinnacle showcenter has a limit of 2.5 to 3 Mbit/sec. does anyone know what the ceiling limiter is in divx? hopefully 2.5 :)
also tried using auto gk with the bandwidth limiter using divx as the codec and it's still freezing in parts. of course, i set the target quality to be 100%, but still. or does it not work in 1 pass mode and only 2 pass?
