hi all,
hope this forum can help us. we've been asking pinnacle for months on their forum about this problem and they've ignored it and told us they don't have any problems on their end.
the problem is that the xvid/divx files we try and play on the pinnacle showcenter using the Sigma Design REALmagic EM 8551 chipset doesn't play smoothly. in high motion/pan scenes, it's almost like it's throwing out frames and is very choppy. files are about 1.5 gigs in size on average. streamed on ethernet, not wireless, so bandwidth shouldn't be the issue here.
most of the people on the forum including myself use autogk to encode the dvds into xvid/divx files. i've tried some others like tmpgenc and canopus but same thing.
since it seems like everyone knows a lot about the sigma chips on this forum, can you let me know if you know if it's the matrix that auto gk uses that the sigma chip on the pinnacle is not very happy with? any suggestions or things i can try to see if i can find out what's causing it? if anyone else has that same sigma chip, can you let me know what you use to encode your xvid/divx files and if you have the same problem?
thanks in advance!
