framerate in nero digital

Using AVC what sort of framerates do you guys get? I can't seem to get it over 6fps during the 2nd pass and no more than 20fps on the first. i wonder is because of the codec or is it my machine?
2.8ghz P4, 1 gig pc400 ddr, 240gig sata
those specs should be more than enough to encode with AVC isnt it?

The numbers seem ok to me. It really depends on what your encoding settings are, but AVC is far from real-time encoding. The result is worth it though...
