mpc and nero digital

i have a problem with dual audio mp4's that nero makes, mpc or in fact any other player i have (bsplayer, wmp10) wont switch the stream! mpc's built in audio switcher doesnt even detect the secondary stream but the aac filter does and when i choose the stream it refuses to change. the same problem with all other players. the only player that switches these streams properly is the nero player which i am not a big fan of. any help or suggestions on getting it to work with mpc? i was so desperate i even extracted the streams and redid them mp4ui but still nothing.. thanks

moved to player forum as this isnt a codec and also not really a container issue

also try the morgan stream switcher (and different mp4 splitter as last resort)

thats not the fault of mpc, but the fault of the nero mp4 parser

nero seems to limit a lot of features of their dshow filters to allow only to be used in their tools (like nero showtime)

among which the following things will only work in nero showtime, when you use the nero parser:
- chapters
- subtitles
- multiple audio streams (when not used in showtime, the nero parser will only output one audio stream)

apart from that their encoder is now also not usable anymore in graphedit (as it was a long time)

solution: use another splitter like 3ivx or moonlight

i've tried both of those splitters but nothing works... can anybody give specific instructions for this noob? thanks a lot

if you usd the nero avc codec, than 3ivx will not work
if you didnt use avc its the best to simply download the free 3ivx package and install it, than it will work

if you used avc you have to use moonlight, what didnt work with it?

Chapters however, will continue to work in MPC :eek:

the 3ivx splitter also supports chapters :)

i tried installing moonlight... put it in my system32 folder, opened up mpc, went to the filters override page set it and still wont work... i went to filters... it allows me to select the streams but after i click on the 2nd stream it wouldnt change! morgan wont even detect the 2nd stream!

You might have the same problem.
