Just wondering if anyone with an Athlon 64 has tried celtic_druids A64 optimized XviD builds? For me I've yet to get any of them to successfully start a 2nd pass encode...Vdub disappears almost immediately when the encode starts. My first pass always works though:confused: Currently I've been using the almost daily Athlon XP builds with no issues at all.

You know what until I read this I had not tried a 2nd pass and I can confirm that there is definatly a problem.... which is now fixed. Still no idea if it is any faster than the regular XP build.
Might take awhile for the file to get mirrored.

Hey, many thanks for the confirmation. I'll grab the latest build and do a comparison tests within the next day and let you know of the speed difference if any. I'm curious :)

if it doesnt timeout it will be mirrored @ 18:00 (GMT+1)
EDIT: Oops... it has been already mirrored... the RTC was badly set...

I'm happy to report that I've successfully completed two entire movies with 2 pass settings. Unfortunately, I've not had the time to do any benchmarking to see a performance difference. Perhaps this weekend I'll have some time. Thanks again for the fix and the file mirror!
Edit- Typo

I seem to get a crash if I use GMC and a set quantizer (using either single pass or in a zone).
Source clip and other settings don't seem to make any difference.

Can confirm, unfortunatly the only way I can get it not to crash is to roll it back to a regular Athlon-XP build. -msse2, etc. cause the crash. So I guess just stick with the ICL7 or xp build.

Heh, I tried hex-editing xvidcore.dll and changed the offending movaps opcode to movups. It fixed the crash but things got *very* slow - down from the usual ~20 fps to 1-2 fps.
Is it a bug with gcc or something else?

I had a try with the x-64 build,
but before going to results i would like to know if i installed all the things right so here what i did :
- Install of the ICL 7 build ( XviD-1.1.0-beta1-ICL7.0.exe )
- Downloaded xvid-1.1.0beta1.Athlon-64.7z , unzipped it then replaced xvid.ax in c:\windows\system32 with the x64 version, then right click-install on xvid.inf to install x64 xvidcore.dll and xvidvfw.dll.
Then here the results (part of Gknot.log) :
