hello,

i have installed DVD-RB 0.70 using rockas installer (i installed avi synth 2.55 first). i successfully backed up one of my dvds, but ever since i have been having problems. the back ups i get are typically about 1.3-1.6 GB as opposed to 4.4 GB. the audio is fine, but for the video i just get a couple of red lines at the bottom of the picture. the overall length of the video is right. i am using CCE SP 2.5 to encode. all of the plugins are in the right folders.

here is a recent log file and the rebuilder.ini file:

i have been working with rockas on the dvd rebuilder pages forum, but we haven't got to the bottom of the problem yet. here's the link:

http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=74&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

i would be grateful for any advice about this

thanks

I've gotten that problem before, but it's always been because the .avs file doesn't point to the correct mpeg decoder file (dgdecode) or other. You should open the .avs file in notepad and double check the mpeg decoder path.

here is what i got from the first avs file.

the path to the DGDecode.dll file is right, as is the path to the Decomb.dll file.

#------------------
# AVS File Created by DVD Rebuilder
# VOBID:01, CELLID:01
#------------------
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\DGDecode.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\DVD-RB\DECOMB\Decomb.dll")
mpeg2source("C:\Temp\D2VAVS\V01.D2V",idct=7)
trim(0,299)
FieldDeinterlace(blend=false)
ConvertToYUY2()
AudioDub(BlankClip())

does this look right to you?

thanks

nick

That looks like it might be the problem to me. Should it be in the Temp directory?

It's definitely an AVISYNTH related problem. Open the .AVS file with Windows Media Player and it will tell you which line in the .AVS is causing the error.

all seems to be working fine now. because it seemed to be a problem with avisynth i reinstalled the Decomb521.dll and the DGDecode.dll from the DVD-RB Pages website, and replaced the ones that were installed using the DVD-RB 0.70 installer. i also put the Decomb.dll in the avisynth plugin folder, and then all worked fine.

thanks for your help,

nick.
