View Full Version : AVC encode - blurring effect (blocks) after scene change

Yesterday I did a test encode with the last Recode version.
I noticed a kind of blurring effect after some scene changes. That is, right after a scene changes, the whole picture looks as if heavily out of focus (blocky), it last like for less than half a second and then all is OK. It doess not happen after every scene change.
I used AVC standard, all default settings for two pass except for: Macroblocks off, Adaptive off and deblocking strength 0, psychovis low, bitrate was around 1,6, the movie format was 4:3.
I think that I have read something about it here, but I cannot find it. Anyone has an idea?

use maximum definition avc, it's a limitiation in rate control whitch produce that, i got the "bug" too, use maximum definition and you won't have the bug anymore.
