I have a Philips DVP642-37 with the 1109 firmware, and have noticed that some AVI's can be fast forwarded/rewound and some can't.
For the life of me, I can't figure out the common factor in this. I know that nearly all DivX v3.11 files can be FF/REV, but XviD typically will not forward or rewind, nor can you jump to a particular time in the file. Some DivX v5.x can be, and some cannot.
At first I thought it was VBR MP3 that prevented FWD/REW from working, but that doesn't seem to be it. Then I thought it was B-frames, but that doesn't seem to make a difference either. Then I thought maybe it was files with AC3 audio, but AVI's with MP3 audio has the problem also...
Anyone figured this out? I'm stumped.
