hi,

i'm backing up some of my dvds and i'm wondering what the main differences are between a dvd backup, and an svcd backup are.

i suppose i need to know about: quality of sound and video, file size, compatibility with standalone players, ease of conversion/backup, time it takes to create, and expertise required.

anything else you can think of that i might want to consider?

thanks in advance,
ken.

Searching would help -> 1 (http://www.doom9.org/glossary.htm), 2 (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/vcdsvcd_faq.htm), 3... (http://www.videohelp.com/svcd) :rolleyes:

- SVCD has a lower resolution

- SVCD has a lower bitrate

- SVCD has only 2ch audio

- SVCD sucks imo... ^^
