I have an HDTV show -

Details:
60 Minutes Long
1280x720p
About 6 Gigs in Size.

I am using autogk to make a file size of 700 MB's.

I also choose to have the audio as an MP3.

The machine is is running on is a P4 3 Ghz HT.

It has taken 8 hours and I believe is on the last step at about 33% finished - it may still have to mux the audio and video together though.

It is encoding it in Xvid. Is this normal?
Would the DivX five codec finish it up any faster?

DivX would be a bit faster, but I bet the most time is spent decoding and resizing original HDTV source (especially if its interlaced). Also encoding time is proportional to the output resolution (so if its larger than 720*xxx then its gonna be much slower than normal encoding from a DVD)

Another thing to look for - FPS. If you have 50/60fps source then you would probably have to bring it down to 25/30fps using hidden option.

Well it isn't interlaced, but everytime I try hitting CTRL-F9 in AutoGK nothing shows up...

Am I missing something?

p.s. you should be using latest AutoGK.
