ok,
i just got into the dvd backup game. i followed your doom9's guide for newbies on how to rip and encode your dvd. i had some trouble but formatted, replaced ghost image (like you said), and now autogk works great- very near dvd quality video with fantastic ac3 audio.
my question is: what can i do with this avi to make it playable on my home dvd player? furthermore, will my home dvd player read a dvd+r?
my guess is that i have to convert the avi back to vob. and get an ifo that goes with it. if i were just to have the vob (converted from my avi), and the ifo that goes with it, would i be able to play the movie in my home player?
thanks for your help,
ken.
ps. a sugestion for those being bombarded by the question: why is my ac3 so quiet, etc? ...recommend ac3filter version 1.01a rc5. it cured all that ailed me. it was no problem boosting and quieting gains specific to my system:)
