CCE 2.70 picture settings entry list

Hi folk!
I deal with DV footage, I try option which give CCE - use different level filters. I found only way through VBR bit allocation menu, this very useful I see Q level and if this level high I goto the picture button and increase level filter.
Question After this I need remake VAF file or not? And make VBR. And all process will be folowing:

1 make first VAF
2 make entry list for filter
3 make second VAF
4 make VBR

If any try this approach let me know.

What do you have mean when you saying incresing. I think that in CCE you set lover value (not higher), because lower value cats more (high) frequences and you get lower Q value. Am I right?

When you'll incres filter level you picture will be less detailed and looks smooth. I never set filter level less then 8

RB if I change filter and I want make VBR encoding after this I can all make as first time?
kolak I see on Q level in VBR bit allocation ant where Q high >10 and CCE show gray color I goto picture and increase level (Natural from 3 to 5) until Q level is normal.
I try reencode and after change filter Q level will be better than before.

First of all sorry I made mistake. I thought about CCE 2.67 when I said "...set filter level less then 8"
But....
low Q level dosen't mean good picture quality. Q level is only estiomation for picture. Natural 5 (Low pass filter=16) means that you cat half information from picture (if we talking about frequency). I use Natural 1 or manually set every setings. Do you really have good picture when you use Natural 5 ???
Only one reason to use Natural 5 is very very poor, noisy source ( in my opinion).
If you have gray color in "VBR bit allocation" window incres bitrate:)
Try this: download high quality source (e.g. from www.divx.com/hd) and encode it with Natural 1 and Natural 5. You'll see diferents!!!

kolak i deal with DV footage, hand fixed camera and when making mpeg-2 for DVD authoring we have restriction 9500kb/s not always enough and we have two choice (use only CCE)or blockness picture or smooth without details. I try find filter for motion compensation for interlaced video (Depan, Deshake) but result not satisfy me (both filter work good with progressive video). If you interested this problem, may be you know some approach.

Sorry I can't help you. I had the same problem and I don't know any solution for that.
... change your camra to Sony HDR-FX1:)
