remove/lessen the effect of dotcrawl during panning

hello there,

lurking around the forums usually gave me ideas or solutions for solving my encoding problems (i'm still rather new to encoding, so don't take everything for granted), but right now i'm facing a problem that noone could give me or wanted to give useable help. didn't like the idea of using the "live with it" filter...

the problem is as follows:

i'm encoding hentais and the dvd sources aren't really the best to work with. many have rainbowing and they seem to be packed with dotrawl once in a while...

as long as it's a static scene dotcrawl can be eliminated via dedot or guavacomb...and as soon as there is any panning/movement hell breaks loose and it looks like s##t.

any tips/hints/workarounds to at least lessen the effect without totally smoothing everything?

i've included 2 sample vobs of two different hentais (not in cluding nudity!) for you guys to work with...both problem differ so please have a look at both.

try depan with depaninterleave before applying the de-rainbower.

it will fit the moving frames together.
