Burn AVI to DVD with wrong size?

I just burn one avi 640 x480 file to DVD +R disc, using Nero 6.6. already use 4:3 aspect ratio. It can play on computer without any problem, but when it plays on DVD player, the size is change(about one inch outer area can't be seen). Anybody can help? Thank you.

well, dvd should be 720x480 not 640x480 so i'm not surprised at what the result was.
you need to use something like tmpgenc which resizes it to standard resolution.
or get AviSynth, and add some black borders so it becomes 740x480. then try that.

I converted the file from 640x480 to 720x480, then burn in DVD.
In PC playing, there will be two black bars at left and right. When I choose "fit to aspect ratio 4:3", it back to full screen without any black bars. When I put in DVD player, still can't see the outer frame(one inch of outer frame cut off).
