Hello,

I've got this grey line at the bottom of my HDTV movie (.ts file) and was wondering if there was a way of removing it without converting and just keeping the video and audio the same format .ts

Don't you read C code? :)

Usage: fix1088 [-s] <input file/pattern> <0xPID>
-s: save input files instead of overwriting them

You have to set your PID to the right value for the video. 0x11 is just an example. You can load the video into DGIndex and then do Detect PIDs to see what your video PID is.

Post a short source clip and I'll look at it when I get home tonight.

how do I do that? Virtualdub doesn't take .ts files but if I use HDTVtoMPEG2 to convert it to .mpg file I'll be able to post a sample but it will be different probably from the .ts version...

Why couldn't HDTVtoMPEG2 include a crop video option or 1088 to 1080 conversion... oh well..

Just give me the first 10 MBytes of the transport file.

HINT: Find a DOS utility called "split".

Or just don't bother, I have 1088i transport files at home. I'll look at it tonight.

It depends on the mpeg decoder. Some of the mpeg decoders show the greyline even if the resolution is 1920x1080 or was patched from 1920x1088->1920x1080.

Most of DVD player software mpeg decoder (windvd/powerdvd etc) will hide the greyline as long as the picture header is 1920x1080. If its 1920x1088 they will show the greyline.

Just try playing it with the intervideo mpeg decoder that ships with windvds trial version.

hi,
try changeing the header to 1920 x 1080
using dvdpatcher.
doom9 >download > s/vcd tools > dvdpatcher
it may solve the prob. if not you can always
patch it back, (or try it on a copy 1st).
