As is known to us,mplayer is a powerful software player.

Not only on Linux,its win32 version is aslo one of the best media players.

here,I'll bring you a fixed version based on cvs-build.

it is compiled by KK(short for KentKing),a Chinese.

Features:
i)media types supported;
mpeg family-dvd,vcd.., by ffmpeg inter build
windows media and Quicktime, use system codecs
Realmedia ,with plugins of Helix supported
MKV,ogm and many new container types supported
also ftp,rtsp&mms online media type

ii)differ with official version,
it is compiled with a simple user interface, such as Load Subtitle,Add files..


iii)update logs

gets screenshot(PNG image format) by pressing 's' key ,also we can set the compression level in .ini files, value can be 0-9,eg:
vf=screenshot=4,expand=:::::4/3:2

fixed some bugs in last few versions;

Looks pretty cool, except on my computer (http://www.freewebs.com/dstormfiles/My%20Computer.htm), it sucks up so much CPU, I can't do anything else unless I pause it.

it works quite well on my computer,also Win2K with RAM 256M,CPU Intel Celeron1.7G.

only when I open a realmedia file ,it'll take much cpu...

About the known bugs, they come with this new build or there are old known bugs ?

Hm, I tried it again just now, and it still sucks up more than the command line mplayer, but other things are useable. Must have been a fluke. Sorry for the mix-up.

:p If you have interest,you can complie it by yourself.

Just cover the official source with Kentking-fixed source,and complie

MPlayer in MingW&MiniSYS.

wow, I really like the small yet useful interface.
I'd like to see the current/total time shown next to the seek bar. And the font settings are wrong as the OSD doesnt display for me?

What I dont like, is that I cant see the command line output - which is useful for debugging or finding out file info.

MPlayer with an interface similar to Media Player Classic is my dream :)

I've had problems playing some x264 videos with mplayer. (namely the latest "one piece" anime). They play fine into MPC but with mplayer the sound is cracking, frames are dropped and lots of errors are reported.
I (and others) have actually detected the problem on the Xbox Media Center (based on mplayer) but originally thought the problems were due to the xbox not being powerful enough... but as mplayer on an athlon64 does the same thing I guess there is something else.
Anybody experienced this?

Is there a way to make mplayer less overscan on ATI tvout? In MPC (overlay), I lose nothing while in mplayer I lose ~30 pixels all around the picture :(

Great player, low resource usage. Wonder if someone could make its interface a little more MPC ( window like ).

Picture quality is on the poor side. But most people i know just want a simple player that plays everything. And so far mplayer has done a good job on it.

Wonder if anyone could make this play online streaming content such as Real Video / Audio and Windows Media as well...........

LOL......... try 5 .... 5 /5 cant use. Either try download the RAM file or drag through it.......it gives error message

Because .ram file is not the actual media, but a link to it. Open the .ram with a text editor, copy the actual media link and throw it to mplayer.

With ActiveX include i am sure this player will RULEZ

In theory, if you type
mplayer.exe -playlist mystream.ram
it should work. In practice, for some strange reason, it does not, at least for me.

it must be add in the gui interface..a little test on the extension of the file to read...

on graphics ^^. The UI is good but the icons are simply not up to standard. ( Actually i would rather they have less icons on the menu coz it looks cluster....

LOL, that is exactly the build i was talking about. Too many icons in Main menu and icons on Main UI playing bar are not very good looking.

Hope they fix the Unicode Support soon.

What updates are you talking about, if I may ask? This build is just a few patches providing the holly gui, functionality wise it's pretty much the same as main cvs, innit?

Aniwais, MPlayer-CVS-20060303-KK appears to be last one (http://bbs.et8.net/bbs/showthread.php?t=634659), so google for this, perhaps.
