View Full Version : What about a new feature?

Hi there everybody ;)
What about a new feature to batch mode? I mean I don't use it much because I lose every special setting (like Half resolution) on the
"options" menu -> AVS options -> Advanced (Expert) options -> Resize to Half D1. You are all going to say why don't you use the "Half D1 and Space for extras"? First because I don't want to use "Half Space" only "Half D1". Second because I want to apply it to just some projects, not all of them!
This is just an example, some other switches should be stored on the project file too. Like the steal space for extras, etc...
I don't know if it's hard to implement or not!!

Fenix (FJorgeR).

What version of RB are you using? This was fixed 3 or 4 versions ago.

DannyV: I thought it had been also (not splitting Half Space and Half D1, just the storing of those and the steal space from extras switches in the project file)... but I'm using 0.71 (and just used 0.70) and it doesn't seem to...
I saved one extras disk without half D1 etc, and 2 disks with half D1 etc, and when I ran it in batch, it ran all the disks with half D1 etc (as that was the last setting I had had DVD-RB on).
It would be useful for this to be on a per-project basis, or if it already is, could someone explain why it doesn't work for me?!
Cheers,

I purposefully left those settings (the ones for which you can choose the VTS) out of the INI files and batch processing because they are too easy to forget -- and have disastrous effects on the next encode when you set and forget them. The readme documents that fact, I believe.
I'll tell you what I might do. I could set the system up so they are saved -- but are only loaded when in batch mode...
I just want to avoid chasing bugs down a rabbit hole -- only to find they were caused by someone forgetting they'd set "Disable Interlaced" on a few jobs ago.
Self-inflicted wounds are DVD-RB's most common bug.

That's a great sugestion ;)
I agree, if someone forgets to check all those settings it would very bad (instead of helping it would turn out to be even more complicated)
So we can at least hope to see a new 0.73 implementing these features?? Only to the load of projects, right? Hehehe!
Thanks once again!!
Keep up the excelent work ( I do have to make another donation soon )...

Self-inflicted wounds are DVD-RB's most common bug.
That's because no matter how simple you make something... someone always needs it simpler.
Cheers JDobbs, that is indeed a good solution.
