I really think that the subtitle compilation in scenarist is magic.

This is not the first time I ask for help on this problem, but I still can't get sutitles to be compiled.

This is a simple project. One PGC 3 audio tracks, 4 sub tracks, 2 for english 2 for spanish each in W and L.

In the simulation window the subs are there just like I want them, in the finished product only the english subs are there.

When I compile I only get 2 enlish subs in the compiled product; I switch among them and yep they are both english.

In a previous project and thread

in the scenario editor, highlight your 'title' folder and in the property browser check the subpicture streams are correctly selected to show 8 streams. you can alter this by switching from 'subpicture avaliabilty > custom' to ' > adjust maximum number of streams' and back again

I've tried that going back and forth with custom and max subs, but it doesn't work (compiling after each  ).

I also tried changing "track stream settings" to make sure that both languages are enabled for 4:3, 16:9, and pan and scan.

Please Please Help.

Hopeless

Sometimes there occur problems in subtitle muxing, if there is more than one track using the same language. This is because in the default settings, Scenarist has to "guess" which streams are used for which language and which displaymode.

In this case, select the PGC, in the properties go to "subpicture attribute" and check for each stream that's shown there if Scenarist is using the right subtitle stream from the trackeditor (i.e. stream number, language and displaymode). I guess that there lies your problem.

Thank you Sensei!:)

Finally a solution to my subtitle blues.

I would just add in case someone finds the same problem and this thread, that you change PGC options in the Scenario Editor Window, select the PGC and navigate Subpicture Attributes in the Property Browser.

I've seen other threads reporting the same problem, so hopefully your wisdom, sensei, will illuminate other lost souls.
