This one looks OK.. I really dont need perfection..just adequacy( I am a picky a** though..so bear that in mind i guess)

OR can i get by with something cheeper... I realize that im not going to get cinema quality caps.. but I just want it decent. I have researched a bit, but I am still a little confused.

I would like to be able to use virtual dub to cap.. or adobe premiere elements or pro..(whatever I find the easiest to use and works the best) I think I will skip ones that have built in tunners..all the interfearance in the comp will make lousy tunning I would think.

For myself, I use all ATI AIW cards with tuners......no there is no interference with the PC.

I like the cards because I can capture in almost any format using VD, VirtualVCR, or Ati's own capture program. There are weird setup problem sometimes, but I can help you there. The big thing is no dropped frames, and perfect audio sync.

As far as editors.take a look at MEP2004 at www.magix.com
