I have a bunch of video files (mpgs) all with 4.3 seconds or so of garbage at the start. Can any one suggest a quick batch-type way of cutting off the first 4500ms (113 frames approx)?

I tried using virtualdub and dubman (I was planning to end up with xvid avis in this case) but sadly when you 'save processing settings' in virtualdub for use in dubman's batch processing virtualdub doesn't store the 'select range' settings, and I don't want to set them manually because there are a lot of files.

From I can gather about avisynth I could make avs files that would drop the first 113 frames, but as I understand it I would have to make an avs file for each mpg (?) which would also take too long.

Any tips?

Ah, I just spotted http://www.zenaria.com/avs.jsp
Which I think alows you to make batch avs scripts.

I'll try it out.

You can also try avisynthesizer (http://tangentsoft.net/video/asynther/) which works really well for me
