I have taken the ac3 audio from the avi file using VirtualDubMod and now trying to convert the avi file (video stream) using TMPGEnc and joining the audio and video back together at the end. The audio and video is fine and watchable but at now and again the video is a bit jerky just for a second or two. I have the correct codec installed according to Gspot and the avi file is 23.976.
Any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you have the "sharpen" filter active it will sometimes do this, you can also try changing the field order to the opposite of whatever you have set now, or encode to a 29.976 framerate.
If the clip is steady when the camera is still and gets jerky when the camera is moving, changing the field order may make the most difference, at least it has for me.

you can also raise the motion estamant up and it helps or if the source is 29.97 you can do a pulldown to convert it 29.97fps
