Private folder problem...

Hey all, i hope someone can help me with this:

I recently re-installed my system using XP SP2 and all went well, however, on the previous install I had made some folders "private" as they where in a shared folder open to my network and I didnt want anyone to access them.

Now though after reinstalling it seems I no longer have permission to accees thes folders either, and they have some rather inportant things I would like in them.

So my question is, is there any way to hack in to/gain access to a private ntfs folder on my system I no longer have permission to access?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You must take ownership of all folders, subfolders, and files. (the folder/files in question of course... no EVERYONE of them on the computer(s)) Only an administration account on the computer holding the files can do that.... you may have no security right, but taking ownership; when you do that, you should be able to set access privileges for whoever you want. If your not familiar with setting ACLs (access control lists) or NTFS permission. Post what os your using using (NT, XP, 2000, server 2003) and wether your part of a domain.
