Hey guys, im sure this has been posted time and time again, but im not having much luck in the search. I have some tv show type dvd's that I need to back up. They are pretty big, but with only the shows (no extras) they will fit on one disc. So I use dvdshrink to reauthor. But now it will only play these shows straight through...no menu. Is there a way I can add a generic menu at the start so that I can just select 1-5 or whatever number of episodes are on the disc and it will play that episode? Im not looking for anything great.
Thanks

well you have a few different options you can try depending on how much effort you wish to exert.
heres a guide to putting the orginal menu back into a shrink re-authored dvd :Ever wanted to put an original menu back on a DVD Shrink reauthored DVD? (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=86556)
heres a guide for importing a self-made menu into dvd-shrink authored dvd: Importing selfmade menus to episode DVDs done with DVD Shrink (http://www.dvdshrink.info/chetwood/guides.php#PgcEdit_menuimport)
and heres a recent thread listing some freeware programs to create a menu: Create Simple Main Menu (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=88144)
of course this is only the tip of the iceberg, but it is a place to start.
oh and check out this guide by doom9: scenarist nt (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/scenarist.htm) for using scenaist to create a menu.

Thanks jel, I did some more research and found DVDauthorGUI or something. Works great. I just made a generic background and some "Episode 1, episode 2" type text and DVDauthorGUI made them buttons and let me select the action of the button(jump to title)
sweet
Thanks

poster72,
Did you multiplex outside of DVDAuthorGUI or specify the elementary streams in the GUI?
The error indicates that the SCR (System Clock Reference) is going backward (resetting?) at some point in the stream. SCR discontinuity is nothing out of the ordinary though. Someone check me on that. Putting multiple sources into a single VTS could very likely lead to this scenario.
Otherwise, the error message sounds like the source is a poorly multiplexed mpeg. Did you individualy mux two videos and then join them info one mpeg/VOB? If you let the GUI (thus mplex) do the work, the separate program streams won't be joined ahead of time. They will just be specified in the xml dvdauthor project file. In the later case, I would be inclined to ignore the error if you have a working disc.
